The postive Justice Project needs to advance laws to stop hiV criminalization. All sexually active people need to be responsible for their own sexual health. Criminalizing HIV does nothing except further stigmatizing HIV. Criminalization further drives people "underground" and lends to unsafe sexual practices and doesn't lend to a conversation in which safer sex takes place. How does one prove they have disclosed to another? Consent forms? Education, conversations and the responsibility about individual responsibility is necessary to cut the degree of transmission. Stigmatization of HIV has not lessened despite 30 years into this epidemic and the criminalization of HIV provides furtile ground for this stigma to become even more virulent than HIV itself. Lastly, even gay people and healthcare professionals, whom one would think would be less judgemental about HIV are among the worst offenders of discrimination. Writing anomously is a symptom of the continued fear one has in even blogging about such issues.
