I guess we were all wrong on Obama. If you studied his history or listened to anything he said in campaign, you had to be scared to death if you were a conservative and delighted if you were a lib. He isnt even President yet and it looks like he has flip flopped on just about every campaign promise. He said this weekend there will be no timetable for Iraq and when he talked withdrawal he only meant combat troops. Only about 20% of Us troops in Iraq are combat. Hilarious. He said today he will not put any new taxes on the evil oil companies that employ thousands of Americans, find our oil,and whose stocks are in all of our IRAs. You can look at his cabinet and discover there has been no change. We have a status quo of dem party hacks who gave us the most corrupt administration in history in the 90s. Prior to the election Obama and his gang had lowered this $250k threshold on taxes to $125K. All this being said I would rather have Obama as president than Mccain and I cant wait till W is long gone. He masqueraded as a conservative and governed like a Dem just as he did while governor of Texas. What we need now is someone who is fiscally responsible. The government has to stop rewarding bad behavior. We must realize that recessions while painful for many are needed to cleanse the system and necessary if we are to start another great stock rally. I hope Obama is the guy to get this done,as a conservative I am pleasantly surprised by what I have seen so far.

After checking out some art museum calendars, I saw that the Getty was the only one marking "A Day Without Art." I can remember when it seemed that every museum or gallery had something happening. This got me to think that the blog-o-sphere would be an ideal way to resurrect the tradition. I'll be posting a tribute to a friend and video artist. I thought it would be a great if I could get other bloggers to post on December 1--anything they'd like--on artists they admire or knew who died of AIDS. http://imoralist.blogspot.com/2008/11/whatever-happened-to-day-without-art.html Incidentally, if you poke around my recent entries, you'll find a recent review of a Goya show here in California.
