SisterLove is now accepting nominations for its seventh annual 2020 Leading Women’s Awards. Each year, the ceremony honors 20 HIV-positive women in the United States who have been living with HIV for at least 20 years.

SisterLove, a women’s AIDS and reproductive justice nonprofit that focuses on women, particularly of African descent, holds the event to honor the courage, leadership and community contributions that HIV-positive women demonstrate.

The ceremony takes place on October 14, 2016, at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. If you know a woman living with HIV who has made a strong impact on her community, consider submitting an application on her behalf.

All applications and materials must be received on or before June 30, 2016, at 5 p.m. Eastern time. The requirements are as follows:

  1. A 2020 Leading Women’s Awardee nominee must have been HIV positive for a minimum of 20 years.
  2. A 2020 Leading Women’s Inductee must be HIV positive and a leader in her community.
  3. Each application should include: a 2020 LWS (Leading Women’s Society) application submitted online, a short bio of the nominee (300 words or less), a head shot of the nominee in JPG format and two letters of reference.
