David I agree with you so much. I know hearing the word religion people draw upon their bad experience or the hypocritical role of the church as well as not discussing the elephant in the room as we sing in the background choir. But like you said it's finding your own relationship with God and you don't need a building to do that. I've learned that just because you go to church every Sunday doesn't make you religious just as standing in a garage everyday doesn't make you a car. We all have a purpose and and mine is sharing my story, a story I wouldn't whisper to myself. But with God's help I've decided that I will not walk around with shame as I did nothing wrong, whether it's my status or sexuality. We walk in the same light and thanks for sharing your story as it's mine as well!

Aundaray, you are right on the mark with this article. I have been taking medication for two years now and it has just become part of my life. I chose to live life and not let HIV control my life. I have had thoughts of just not taking it in the beginning and just let the virus control my destiny, but I know God has a purpose for my life. That purpose I believe is to share with others that there is HOPE, if you will give your life to God and let HIM direct your footsteps. I know this is hard for so many in our LGBT community to understand since most have been rejected by their family or church. God does not reject them, religion rejects them. It is my calling to let those that have been rejected by the "church" or organized religion know that Jesus loves you and accepts you just as you are with all your flaws. Jesus gives life to those who believe. Jesus gives HOPE and Healing. I have experienced a wonderful healing in my body since I have been standing on His Word and trusting Him with my life completely. I could go on, but alas I will start sounding like a preacher. Thank you for sharing your story. May God bless you Aundaray.
