Peter I had the pleasure of meeting you this past Sunday at the premier of How To Survive a Plague at the Sundance Film Festival. Never before have I been so happy and proud to meet anyone. Your body of work is amazing and you should be viewed as a national hero. Without your incredible passion, persistence and those like you, the current offerings of HIV medications would never have come to be. Thank you for all that you have done. Bob

I left the bay area in 1981 to move back to San Diego, and then OKC in 1982 and when I return to SF 1985 it was devastating, the epidemic had just truly fully hit the city and it was so hard to see the faces, and the obituaries in the BAR ever week and seeing face after face I either knew or recognized. The numbing exhaustion of it, the emotional fatigue and the sadness and fear of the disease. How different things are now.
