Mark, I had to laugh at your essay about leaving the hospital for an HIV event. To me, it's the old story that we are often the least objective about our situations and need to rely on our networks of friends to guide us. I'm glad you were able to do the event in Minnesota but none of us is indispensable and they would have found a replacement speaker if they had had to. Self-care is vital for us long-term survivors. Next time, listen to your network. They know better than you....
