Dear Joe; I'm here to tell you that I am going on 32 years with HIV, I was Tod back on April 28,1983 when it wad called G.R.I.D.S and that I had only 6 months to live! Well I am still here and I ave lost all that I knew over the past 30 years even I half brother back in 1995 this was before they had the drugs they have now back then it was only AZT, I can say it was a rough time for all but I did survive, and I did not start meds until 2003, plus I was then told that I had Hep C, I'm not a God kind of man not to say that there is not, one I just I do believe in a higher power, but that is not why I am writing this it is possible to live a long and full filling life I have and I will continue to live until the day I do come to pass; if it was up to me I will live to be the oldest person living with HIV I'm 52 now and I feel that I have another 52 years ahead of me. So when you hear someone say that they can't live or handle being HIV tell them to stop whining that there are people out there that has and will keep on living with hopes that soon they will come up with a cure. I have carried to many boxes in my life and now I have no more to carry, it hurts me to know that I am the last of those I grew up with, but I will not let that stop me for I am strong & stubborn and that this will not get me down, so keep your head held high and your attitude pos for all will be OK.
