Bansky: If blacks and women and lgbts weren't singled out and attacked and discriminated against (mostly by republicans, even the president), then the dems wouldn't have to address those individual groups. While I find identity politics to be a double-edged sword, as a member of a minority, I'm glad someone in leadership isn't afraid to clearly push back against discrimination. But yes, I think dems could do a much better job at addressing the whole of America, including white Americans.

The 2016 election results should not have even happened. The reason it did is because the people who should have voted, did not. While Hillary was a poor candidate, she was clearly way better than the winner. The problem is all the identity politics which divides people. Instead of it being dems, it's blacks or women or lgbt. If one group feels like their "victimhood" hasn't been acknowledged enough, they stay home. Others feel left out. This may destroy the democratic party if not the country.
