I remember seeing him on television. I used to wonder why he went to the public knowing I'm sure that what he looked like was not the same Rock Hudson. I guess he wanted to share what he was going through, but this only a guess. So many people died. I have been with aids for twenty-five years and sometimes I wonder why I'm still around. Death would only bring me relief and yet I'm still here, I look like a skeleton. I wish I had died back then, I guess it was not meant to be. Thank-you for sharing this very sad episode on the life of Rock Hudson.

Yes very sad of a man that died before coming to his own in truth. You might enjoy the book Full Service by Scott Bowmen (think that his last name) In the secret life of Holly Wood men and the elite as they tried to find love in the most fascinating avenues.

To Mark Interesting In the early 80's I owned the Hair Salon (with/for my now deceased partner) at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago with my EX. Rock was doing the road show "On the Twentieth Century" with Imogene Coca and staying there. My then partner found him drying his hair from the hotel pool in the spa bathroom under a hot hair blower and took him into the salon to blow dry him. Rock was traveling with his long term partner Tom who may have been the man in question at your dinner that night. They did not live together in LA. Tony, my partner was (movie star) gaga and he and Rock became 'friends.' I told him to invite the two of them to dinner ... they showed up, one with a bottle of Scotch, the other Gin, which they consumed in less than two hours. We also played trial pursuit and Rock was pissed because I continually won. Walking them back to the Ritz it was obvious Rock wanted Tony and I got his partner. Being monogamous, I declined ... but Tony continued to see him up until he died (flying to LA etc). I did not. It is very sad that Rock, [perhaps] infected, I suspect, many, my partner amongst them (Tony died of AIDS the year Rock did). There you have another man's story of "My Night With Rock Hudson." Joel
