Well-written piece, Christian. I heard the full story on NPR this morning and almost drove off the road to weep. The level of misunderstanding and prejudice in this country is overwhelming to those of us who care. Thank you for writing this.

I take no comfort in your theory. True that divisiveness is nothing new but one candidate has brought out the worst in people who should have kept their worst under wraps. I've been reading about Dugas in the last few days but didn't know the official line about him had already been debunked. Thanks for weighing in.
