Completely and totally agree with you Peter Staley. The complacency of many so-called progressives terrifies me, as does the robotic chant of some/many OWS types that "it doesn't matter who's elected, both parties are the problem" (obviously they've never lived, as an adult anyway, under Bush I or II), especially when as compared with the passionate & well organized fervor of the pro-NRA, pro-Christian Right, pro-Rich People Don't Pay Taxes/I Hate Obama Crowd, who be assured *will turn out and vote* . The political, cultural, and economic climate in the US right now reminds me eerily of the pre-Reagan days, when everybody was assuring themselves that he had no chance of winning so they didn't need to vote. *We need everyone possible to go out and register to vote and to actually go out and vote for Obama in November; we face a scary scary life complete with a Romney-appointed Supreme Court if we all don't pull together!*
