I've been living with HIV since 1983 and I can't wait to see this exhibition. I am so blessed to have lived long enough to see the majority of Americans become educated about the disease. Much of the fear and stigma have been alleviated in the medical community, making life easier for all of us still battling to survive and be productive to our community and loved ones.
And no honorable mention? :) It was a great night and great meeting you!

I certainly hope that this exhibit discusses the reprehensible behavior of the Regan Administration to help promote AIDS hysteria and by extension to promote the spread of HIV! The best way to document this is to quote C. Everett Koop, Surgeon General during the Regan Administration. I for one tried to find HIV-related information at the National Library of Medicine in the early years of the disease. Nothing existed? I certainly could not find anything. Statements from Dr. Koop strongly imply that researchers were either afraid or generally unwilling to publish any information at all about HIV during the early years when we could have stopped this disease from spreading. Thanks a whole lot Regan.
