In the rush for equality when it comes to same sex marriage (yes, I am gay, hiv positive, have a companion and our family accepts us, oops, not most of are gay friends, he is not pos.), we read the fine print, if we got married, it would not be "equal" as opposite sex couples, yet no one mentions it. One I can recall is citizenship through marriage, this is a state marriage that does not have all Federal Rights. We did not vote for it. Love may have won now, but in the end greed rules and money win's. Think about it. As for how we lost the vote, a underestimated class of "christian democratic non-liberal non-voter" woke up and swung the vote, what makes you think they will let this slid? I am for equality and we have it, but we do not have equality for health care, a positive man like himself is hard pressed to be treated as a human and for his illness, I lost a job because of it, how, do you ask? Take note Employers, every year buy cheap coverage health care, eventually all the expense users will fall out, co-pays are a killer, then driving 100 miles for a "approved Doc" (when one's city has 5 non approved Doc's) one has 2 choices, stop meds or go on public asst. medical (and get treated like shit). 20 pulse years now, i am tired, so, i would rather have a cure then same sex marriage. you just get more respect as a healthy man or woman.

I agree with you completely. It is been far too long that this discrimination has been allowed.I think the ruling will be affirmed in both courts based on how it is written. This judge studied cases and did his homework. I also agree much of this comes out of fear/homophobia.My gay brother faced discrimination many times and of course when he was dying with AIDS in 1986 many did not understand and this too promoted homophobia. We as a family accepted him completely as we knew he was gay long before he contracted HIV. He was fortunate to have wonderful, caring and compassionate medical professionals, nurses and hosptial. This was often not the case and still is not in many areas of the country. I work in the HIV field and I see it everyday (fear/homophobia). Erin
