Dear Mr. Guess, Thank you for this for this. Here in the Bahamas we are still dealing with much misinformation and the resulting stigma and discrimination. My own story parallels yours very closely in the time frame and the learning curve and happily,in the outcome, survival and self empowerment. My advice to anyone living in fear is to educate themselves about the realities of their condition and the very effective treatments that are now available, and to seek out a community of supportive people HIV positive or not. We have come a long way since 1986 but there is still much to be accomplished.
