"It is my humble opinion, however, that we remain vigilante, informed and ready to ACT-UP should lack of dollars ever prevent a person living with HIV/AIDS from accessing care." Excuse me? what country are you living in? This happens every single day in america. 40% of PLWH aren't even in care, let alone on meds. Any diversion of money is murder. Also i for one am super concerned who they'll use their concentration camps on next, especially since we paid for them...
monies that are in a surplus should still use for those afflicted with hiv aids-(PREP?) many need services that go unaddressed medically.
I smelled sensationalism from the very first article. The comment about another administration doing the same solidified my opinion. This article likely caused undue stress to a many readers. Shame on all involved.
They took unused funding . Wait a minute there are HIV+ people in Need of housing in all throughout the United States and you use the money for something else and the person trying to get infomation is ok with this. Well am not it for People living with with AIDS & HIV . Am going to keep my eye on this situation . Something does not sit right with me...
so has anyone sent this information to a news agency like MSNBC so that it can be put into the public spotlight? I can not believe that they have only diverted funds from this account for this reason.
very good to learn that this fiscal year is ok, but still not ok to use unused funds. if there are unused funds left over after the fiscal year, it should be allocated to local agencies to help those with hiv. in my state of ohio, i live in a county with zero hiv services and doctors. i have to travel out of my county to get the minimal help i do. we have a serious crisis with the ssa and disability claims, and another one in the cutting off of the dfa program through job and family services.
Thank you for your hard work in getting to the root of this issue!

So what if there's a surplus? Ryan White funds are for a very specific purpose. Every time I talk to my counselor about something I get told well the program for that was cut because we don't have funding for that. Yet they say they have this surplus?! It goes back to what I've always said, we can afford what we want. More than likely its easier to raid Ryan White with out waves than Social Security. Oh wait, they did that too.
