The Catholic Church is RIGHT ON when it comes to Condoms and the FACT they do NOT prevent HIV. Many who do not believe in the Teachings of the Catholic Church are bound by their SELFISHNESS and are living a life that is not pleasing to GOD. Then when it comes down to asking themselves if there is a GOD they reject that there is because all of their innocence is gone and they have also rejected true meaninful love with lust for themselves and their selfish desires. They then conclude their is no GOD. I understand why they believe that because they HATE religion and people that have hope in something that requires unselfish love and and respect for the Human sexuality that is open to life, not SELF. Some have become so consumed with the World that this will never be understood to them. [21] For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world, by wisdom, knew not God, it pleased God, by the foolishness of our preaching, to save them that believe. [22] For both the Jews require signs, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: [23] But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews indeed a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness: [24] But unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Happy Human Rights Day! What a sad state of affairs for gay people today. I think that gay men and women need to reconsider just who is on our side and who isn't. Several years ago I wrote a piece about the Evangelical movement in the USA, and the piece was titled Can Gays Survive Christian Fundamentalism, or something like that. The fact is that this is what is happening. It is time that religions like Christian Evangelicalism, Islam, and Judaism is not the friend of gay men and women, that is what the vote at the UN makes perfectly clear. Should we wait until they start driving the box cars up to our houses before we act? With at least a hundred countries voting against us, it is clear that gay men and women will start seeing attacks against us in ways that we have not yet witnessed. Instead of words, maybe it is time that we had our own militant organization. I, for one, do not plan on sitting on my heels.
Hi Regan, Beautiful piece! I'm really proud of you because I can see that your journey has been first and foremost, a spiritual one, and I don't mean religious, spiritual. Your heart is so open that I can see the beautiful blue and yellow light emanating from here, thousands of miles away! Your piece touched me, well written, well justified, and you touch upon all the right points. This is my first time reading this blog and Im not POZ but I will return to it because of your article. I also read about AIDS/HIV in India, very sad. Though I was raised Catholic, I knew at an early age that this wasn't for me. I am impressed when I meet someone with your viewpoint and openness, it is really beautiful. The UN actions are surprising and shocking. I've been watching the evangelical US/Africa connection and Uganda and I wrote a piece several years ago titled Can Gays Survive the Christian Right? I only put it on a blog a couple years ago, but I feel it was very prophetic, and as I look around the world, with all the troubles between the worlds three major traditions, I do not feel very hopeful. Whatever happens, whatever man does to his brothers and sister, we, as a race, will all have to be responsible for that also. Hi Dan Listen, I don't believe in God either, but your responses to the editor of Poz was a bit much. She in now way was pushing her beliefs, and actually I was quite impressed with her ethical viewpoints; furthermore, she was chiding the Pope, and she is/was a Roman Catholic. This takes an awful lot of intelligence, compassion, and serenity.
People can believe what they like and they can do what they like with there life, I do not care, but what i do care about it when it affects so many people. I am a Roman catholice and i love the words of GOD. There is only one GOD he is the same GOD for everyone, and we believe that he holds the key to death and the grave. People become offended by this why, they all think there is nothing after death, but i have my right to believe in something else I hope that this will bring some comfort to some people: God's promise of Help and healing. The LORD says let my people return to me. Remove every obstacle from their path! Biuld the road, and make it ready! I am the high and holy God, who lives for ever. I live in a high holy place, but i also live with people who are humble and repentant, so that i can restore their confidence and hope. I gave my people life, and i will not continue to accuse them or be angry with them for ever. I was angry with them because of their sins and greed, and so i punished them and abandoned them, But they were stubbon and kept going their own way. " I had seen how they acted, but i will heal them. I will lead them and help them, and i will comfort those who mourn. I offer peace to all, both near and far! I will heal my people. But evil people are like the restless sea, whose waves never stop rolling in, bringing filth and muck. There is no safty for sinner said the LORD, The light of the world.
We live in a world that could have been perfect. It's not the world that is bad it's just people. I am not talking about religion, I am talking about people and the way they carry on. Why have so many people got HIV and AIDS. Is it not a fact that if you have sex with every Tom, Dick or Harry and you use no protection you could get anything? not only HIV, and then there is the man next door who has a diffrent one every night and he even went with a married one, because the husband turned turned up one night and kicked his head in, or the married woman who lives down the road she go's out every weekend without the husband and get's pissed out of there head and then she's off with anyone. And we all know how sick in the head some can be because they kill children for sex, is that not sick to you? And men going with men is sick to me, and is it not a fact that HIV is caused through anal sex. And then is spread by what shall we call them? They are not men or a woman, but they like both as long as it's a hole. And then when they become ill they bring GOD into it and blame him and they say to GOD what have i done wrong, It's your life and do what you want, I am only tell you the facts. When they have only themself to blame. But the sad thing is there are always victims that people forget. Why do they have to suffer for your sins.

Mike, Have you heard about the greatest prophecy of are times. Scientists in the UK recived the first prophecy at the end of 2004. And the last sent before the pope died in May 2005, which mentions Timothy the first man to be cured of HIV. This gives me hope that soon their will be a cure for all people, and most of all the children...The Thired secret of Fatima, which the pope needs to confirm that the prophecy has been placed in the Doctrine of Faith. And the pope needs to confirm to the people, that the Roman Catholic church has this prophecy which speaks of Timothy in it. And lets not forget that God is making him self known to us.
