I vaguely remember the summer of '84 being told I was infected with HIV with several of my friends, many whom have died already. I never really took it seriously until the early 90's in many of friends, all queers began dying, not from HIV rather AIDS, as we know it today. I would have to say the real shocker was Feb 2001 being diagnosed with AIDS, I actually believed I was going to die soon, but that proved wrong, as today, 29 years later, I seldom give much thought as to being any different living with AIDS than someone else. People in my opinion overshadow HIV with horrible life experiences.. AIDS is the killer, having access to healthcare matters..
