Your reaction is somewhat diffuse, Duran. You plaud the goodness of these historic men and agree that religious fanaticism is not what they taught (although that may necessarily be true,) while seemingly taking offense at a blog post in which one or more of these men were illuminated by their humanity - a reaction that one might fairly characterize as a bit fanatical. Nonetheless, I respect your individual right to express it and will not be issuing a fatwa to avenge my good name.

I aggree with you that fanatics tend to get out of hand and bring about violence and misery in the name of religion. Its horrible and unbecoming of a humanity. But did you know that Gandhi, Jesus and the Buddha all opposed violence and hatred as well as organized religion ? Some religion were created by power hungry men who wanted to capitalize on the teachings of these three men and other such goodpeople as well.In their attempts to control people and become wealthy, they deliberately misinterpreted scripture to suite their own wicked beliefs. In the chaos and atrocities that resulted, Jesus, Buddha and Gandi (as well as Islam) all got bad names. Hate mongers take the teachigs of good people, twist them round and then commit murder in the name of the good person. If I taught people to love one another and then in time, hate mongers twisted my teachings and killed in my name, does that make me a bad person ? It saddens me how atheists believe that God is non-exsistant just because idiots created hate based reigions. Jesus was always warning people to be wary of religious teachers. I bet you didn't know that. Gandhi once said "I respect the teachings of the Christ but most christians are so unlike him." Has it ever accurred to you that "God" and "goodness" are simply one and the same and that anything that isn't good is not about of God? Yes, Gandhi, Jesus and the Buddha did have the same bodily functions as you so disrespectfully pointed out. But they are not responsible for the hatred and violence commited in their names. Nor is God.
