(Almost) daily I write a list of 10 things I am grateful for and email it to 5 people, who do the same. Last night was the first day of a meeting, titled HAART 2.0, that I have been working on for over a year. This is my list for today.

I am grateful for

1. The Organizing Committee- Marty Delaney, Ben Cheng and I came up with our wish list for our Organizing Committee, and every single person said yes. It showed me in no uncertain terms that this meeting was a good idea.
2. The Program Committee: A subset of the OC, who I pulled together on short notice, and for helping me mold an agenda.
3. The Community Activists: who met before the general meeting and had a deep and spirited discussion about the issues we face. I was the junior activist in the group, and I was proud to be in such company.
4. Debbie Cooke our meeting planner- for all the behind the scenes work getting this meeting organized, getting everyone here and dealing with the details.
5. Pat Dunn- for saving me when I was drowning.
6. AIDSMEDS.COM and David Evans- David is our rapporteur for this meeting, with the full support of AIDSMEDS.
7. The financial supporters of the meeting: FAIR, Merck and Pfizer- for providing the resources needed to make this meeting possible.
8. Dana Van Gorder- Project Inform?s not so new Executive Director, who helped me get through a few crises of confidence.
9. All of the attendees a truly rock-star line up of thinkers and difference makers in the fight against this deadly pandemic. I was reminded several times yesterday that the most important thing is to get the right people in the room at the right time, and I am confident that we did.
10. and Marty Delaney: this meeting was originally his brain child, and I am honored to have helped make it happen.
