I think Anne Rice's novels came out during the AIDS hysteria years and wonder if she realised the link? They kind of spoke to you in regards to love and surviving in limbo before the hereafter, a thought we all had when AIDS=DEATH was the norm. Those books certainly added a creative angle - if not a fantasy slant to what was otherwise an incredibly difficult situation for a young guy to fathom. I also read Wuthering Heights - a fantastic novel. That moved me so much I travelled to UK to find this Wuthering Heights - yup it was there, thunderstorm and all!
