Whitney did a great deal to fight HIV/AIDS to suggest that means nothing because she was not a LGBT activist mixes apples and oranges. RIP songbird!

what a lovely remembrance. i agree that her AIDS work's going unnoticed says much about her selflessness and lack of self-promotion. in a time when blogs and internet make it easier to instantly express and politicize feelings that we perhaps have not fully thought out, i'm glad you've helped cut through needless anger and debate and simply note what she did for people living with HIV. it's too bad she couldn't help herself, too--but maybe for her, the charity was enough. the preacher at today's service spoke eloquently of the spirituality of "prioritizing." at least in her charity work, that shone through
