Monoclonal Antibodies

Monoclonal antibodies prevent HIV from entering human cells. These antibodies bind to the CD4 receptor or the CCR5 coreceptor on CD4 cells. Once they do this, HIV cannot successfully latch onto these cells, thus preventing the virus from infecting them.
