The Affair: 20th Anniversary and World AIDS Day Celebratory Reception
About this Event
Let’s focus on a community where resources for people of color living with HIV are abundant, access to healthcare challenges are removed, and more people are virally suppressed. Let’s focus on a community with more housing options for Black LGBT. Let’s focus on a community where people of color no longer call themselves vulnerable to health disparities and are not considered marginalized. Let’s focus on a community without HIV STIGMA!
The 2019 World AIDS Day Celebration is THE PREMIER fundraising and SOCIAL AFFAIR, focused on raising public awareness of HIV in Black/African American communities. This year, Brothers United, Inc. dba BU Wellness Network is committed to celebrating the forward movement and innovation of HIV prevention and care. This event is inspired by the VOICES Project, created in Charlotte, North Carolina, where local influential leaders give VOICE to the stories of persons living with HIV. These voices will provoke emotion and move you to understand the importance of your support of BU Wellness Network.
In addition to VOICES, we will recognize our local community health champions as they have been vital to supporting the work of BU Wellness Network. We are excited to celebrate this day with a diverse group of sponsors and local businesses, dignitaries, civic leaders, volunteers, public officials, and others who support the mission to improve the health and wellness of the community by addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
