AIDS LifeCycle 2020

From May 31–June 6, AIDS/LifeCycle will host a weeklong roster of virtual events, collectively known as AIDS/LifeCycle@Home, to encapsulate the spirit of community and philanthropy among its 3,000+ participants who had registered for this year’s physical ride benefiting San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the HIV/AIDS-related services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In March the highly-anticipated 545-mile bike journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles was canceled—for the first time in the ride’s history—under precautions from state and local officials in order to protect vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. AIDS/LifeCycle cyclists were scheduled to depart from Cow Palace on Sunday, May 31, and arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 6, with hundreds of volunteer “roadies” supporting them during their seven-day journey.

AIDS/LifeCycle@Home will produce the virtual, reimagined versions of some of the ride’s favorite events, among them: Opening and Closing Ceremonies; @Home workouts to begin each morning; virtual hangouts and coffee talk during lunchtime with leaders of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center; virtual dance parties; the always-entertaining Talent Show; and more.

The full schedule of AIDS/LifeCycle@Home is posted online at aidslifecycle.org.
