AIDS Walk Wisconsin & 5K Run
AIDS Walk Wisconsin and 5K Run is the largest HIV fundraising event in Wisconsin. Now in its 30th year, the Walk/Run has raised more than $13.5 million for the fight against AIDS. Taking place along Milwaukee’s lakefront, the event has brought together more than 130,000 walkers and volunteers since 1990, who raise pledges to help people with HIV live longer, healthier lives.
The event starts and finishes at the Summerfest Grounds. Highlights include morning entertainment and activities, continental breakfast and an opening program with special guests. The route is fully supported with themed rest stops, medical support, and food/water.
Nationally-recognized HIV activists Cleve Jones, Naina Khanna and Mondo Guerra will all serve as Honorary Co-Chairs to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the largest HIV fundraising event in Wisconsin. Past honorary chairs include Jane Lynch, Taye Diggs, Lance Bass and Michael Turchin, Tim Gunn, Clay Matthews, Bette Midler, Ryan Braun, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Bon Iver.
