The National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS (NCSWH), founded in 1988, is an annual event that draws more than 500 leaders, social workers, individuals living with HIV/AIDS, federal partners, researchers, professors, and students from across the country and nations abroad. The field of HIV/AIDS has dramatically changed from 1988 when HIV/AIDS was a death sentence to 2018 when individuals can live and thrive with HIV.

We can see an end to the HIV epidemic in this generation! As our 30th National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS conference approaches, we will focus on the role social workers play in ending HIV/AIDS through our work on the front lines. The Conference will look at the history of HIV, as well as a variety of emerging topics (i.e., the Undetectable = Untransmittable campaign, health disparities among various populations, and best practices for testing and engaging vulnerable people in care, etc.).
