World AIDS Day 2018 - Think Global Act Local

For 30 years, the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City has acted to eliminate the stigma, suffering and spread of HIV/AIDS in our community. On the week of World AIDS Day 2018, a week of global solidarity, we rally to achieve our shared goal of an AIDS-free world.

In observance of World AIDS Day 2018, the Foundation will present two events inspired by this drive to Think Globally, Act Locally: The Mark Dreiling Legacy Council Patrons Reception and the World AIDS Day Community Luncheon. We are thrilled that Madeline Romious, Regional Vice-President of External Affairs at AT&T, will serve as Honorary Chair of these observances.

All Patrons of the Mark Dreiling Legacy Council will be invited to the World AIDS Day Patron Party on Tuesday, November 27th, 5:30 to 7:30 pm, at the home of Kevin Westrope and Jason Holmes, located at 815 W. 52nd Street, Kansas City, MO 64112. Patrons will also be invited to the World AIDS Day Community Luncheon on Wednesday, November 28th, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Plexpod Westport Commons, 300 E. 39th Street, KCMO 64111.

We ask you to consider supporting World AIDS Day 2018 with a gift.

A highlight of the Community Luncheon on November 28th will be keynote remarks by Bruce Richman, Executive Director of the Prevention Access Campaign. Mr. Richman has fought relentlessly to share the groundbreaking, stigma-shattering evidence that proves people living with HIV whose viral loads are reduced to an undetectable level cannot transmit HIV. He is also the Founder of the campaign, U = U, which stands for “Undetectable equals Untransmittable”. Launched in July 2016 and led by those living with HIV, this simple game-changing campaign has grown into a global movement in record time.

We thank you for your steadfast commitment to the mission of the AIDS Service Foundation and for your consideration of our request in support of World AIDS Day 2018. You’ve helped fight HIV. Now lets end it.
