World AIDS Day: Celebrate Self-Care

Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center and its daily youth empowerment program Project Silk Lehigh Valley invite the community to celebrate self-care on World AIDS Day, which is Wednesday, December 1.

Knowing your status is self-care, and the center will provide free testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, and other STIs. Depending on age, community members will either test downstairs with Project Silk or upstairs with Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. Project Silk testing for individuals ages 14 to 29 starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center testing for individuals ages 30 and older starts at 4 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.

The event will include stations for DIY self-care crafts and safe sex kits on the main floor and screening of QTPOC (Queer and Trans People of Color) films and TV shows in the youth space downstairs (only for individuals ages 14 to 21). Project Silk will be giving away $25 gift cards for the first 15 community members ages 14 to 29 who get tested.
