World AIDS Day: An Homage to Warren Sonbert

In memorializing Worlds AIDS Day, this screening of 16mm film prints from the Reserve Film and Video Collection pays tribute to Warren Sonbert, one of the seminal figures of American experimental film. Archivist and guest curator Jon Gartenberg, who has worked extensively on preserving and furthering this unique artist’s legacy, will present Hall of Mirrors (1966), Noblesse Oblige (1981), Friendly Witness (1989) and Whiplash (1995/1997).

(If you need assistance with online reservations, please visit the welcome desk at the Library for the Performing Arts’ Lincoln Center Plaza entrance, where volunteers will make a reservation for you, even if you do not use email. For free events, The Library generally overbooks to ensure a full house. All registered seats are released 15 minutes before start time, so we recommend that you arrive early.)
