Job Summary

The Community Health Education and Training Coordinator works closely with the Director of Community Health and Wellness and Senior Manager of Community Health to create, organize, and monitor WWH’s Community Health and Wellness education and training programs as well as behavioral interventions for groups and individuals. This person coordinates logistics related to client and community engagement; client enrollment in programs and interventions; volunteer recruitment and training; and implementation and evaluation activities to support WWH’s diverse compendium of Community Health and Wellness programs and events.

Role Specific Primary Essential Duties:

• Assists with program design, implementation, and evaluation activities for Community Health and Wellness programs and interventions.

• Conducts annual training needs assessments to develop and conduct training activities relevant to target populations in accordance with identified best practices, including evidence-based and evidence-informed practices.

• Participates in monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of training plans to ensure both accuracy and relevance of all training materials.

• Establishes and maintains required documentation of completed training programs and performs quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and ongoing maintenance of all training materials and participant records.

• Creates and maintains partnerships with other community-serving organizations and government agencies that expand the reach of WWH’s programs and services to the community, including DC Public Schools, DC Public Charter Schools, and local colleges and universities.

• Collaborates with Senior Manager of Community Health and other staff to coordinate a range of program activities that address HIV/STI and unintended pregnancy prevention, positive social engagement, substance misuse, general health and wellness, community development, and other topics relevant to the target populations.

• Performs virtual and in-person outreach to community agencies and social groups, promoting collaboration, referrals to WWH programs, and enrollment of new clients in services at WWH.

• Facilitates educational sessions and interventions with targeted populations, providing HIV/STI and general health and wellness-related information using age-appropriate, culturally humble, agency-approved materials/models and approaches.

• Assists in coordinating and overseeing activities of youth volunteers.

• Performs Counseling, Testing, and Referral Services (CTRS) and supports mobile testing efforts and community engagement events for target populations, including a partnership with the DC Department of Health.

• Serves as a WWH representative at community meetings and events as assigned.

• Responsibilities include other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts as necessary.
