Digital Advocacy Coordinator

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) seeks a dynamic and passionate individual to support the Digital Advocacy team’s efforts to protect and expand access to safe and legal abortion, birth control and comprehensive sex education, and defend Planned Parenthood’s role as the largest provider of reproductive health care. Reporting to the Director of Digital Advocacy, the Digital Advocacy Coordinator will provide administrative, substantive, and project management support for the work of the Digital Advocacy team. The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys both substance and process and thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates agendas for regular team meetings and assists Digital Advocacy Director in department-wide endeavors, including team retreats and goal planning sessions.
  • Takes notes during team meetings and distributes to relevant colleagues.
  • Manages the Director’s schedule to ensure that her time reflects the strategic priorities of the CXO Division.
  • Responsible for vetting content through review process.
  • Manages the budgeting process for the Digital Advocacy Department and acts as the point of contact for writing new contracts with vendors and making timely payments through the Finance Department.
  • The Coordinator oversees travel and monthly receipts for the Director and other team members and Effort Reports.
  • Develop reports on metrics from social media properties.
  • Help draft social media content.
  • Research new channels and tactics. 

REQUIREMENTS / TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to both get in the weeds· and see the larger picture.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for health care and PPFA’s mission.
  • Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required.

PERSONAL QUALITIES /OTHER ATTRIBUTES

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in non-profit advocacy, digital media, or political campaign preferred.
  • Project management and administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong record of accomplishment of working effectively with colleagues at all levels and executing events.
  • Highly organized. Demonstrates a sense of ownership (and enjoys), keeping track of to-do’s and projects to move forward.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to focus on specific details and ensures accuracy in all work.
  • Unflappable. Able to operate effectively and with flexibility in a constantly shifting and sometimes ambiguous environment and comfortable working with more senior staff.
  • Strong sense of responsibility. Dedicated to ensuring the success of the work and commitment to the mission of PPFA and a basic understanding of reproductive health issues.
  • Excellent oral and writing skills. Expresses oneself thoughtfully and asks questions. Strong writer with an ability to speak in the voice of the principal over time.
  • Willing to try new work assignments and have a creative approach to work.
