Job Summary:

The HIV Prevention Manager will oversee the comprehensive HIV Prevention services provided by The Pride Center, including oversight of programs and team members for: targeted HIV-testing in non-healthcare settings; prevention for PLWH; prevention for persons at increased risk for acquiring HIV; referral and navigation to essential support services including PrEP; social media and other outreach; community mobilization; behavioral interventions; prevention townhalls; and other prevention programs and services. Manager serves as an integral leader of Center HIV prevention efforts to reduce new HIV infections, ensuring that: 1.) PLWH are linked and adherent to medical care and maintain viral suppression; 2.) undiagnosed individuals receive testing; and 3.) those at risk are linked to HIV prevention and essential services, including PrEP.

Salary Range: $46,000-$55,000, based on education and depth of professional expertise

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field required; Master’s Degree strongly preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, Education, Healthcare or related field;
  • In-depth understanding and proven experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, testing, behavioral interventions; outreach and health promotion;
  • Professional expertise working with LGBTQ, PLWH and communities of color;
  • Well-honed experience implementing and providing clinical oversight for evidence-based interventions and other science-based models;
  • Manager will need to have or gain certification as a facilitator for both LIFE Program and PCC;
  • Proven ability to motivate, encourage and develop others;
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, individual counseling, public presentation and small group facilitation;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people and budgets;
  • Proven abilities in operations/organization, data gathering, documentation and computer knowledge including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, social media apps;
  • Bilingual/bicultural skills strongly preferred;
  • Current certification in HIV/AIDS 500 and 501 Prevention Counseling, Testing and Referral strongly preferred; 
  • Knowledge of specialized services for people living with HIV; substance abuse; mental health; domestic violence; homelessness; etc;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Organizational abilities and critical thinking skills. Logic and analytical ability;
  • Ability to work hands-on with limited resources, independently or in a team setting;
  • Some nights and weekends required.
