HIV/HPV research assistant opportunity with a medical school and hospital in Manhattan.  This position requires critical thinking, strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

 

We are a small HIV/AIDS research unit within a much larger organization looking to add an out-going, dynamic person to our team.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  With some exceptions.

 

Under the direction of the Principle Investigator, the Assistant Research Coordinator performs patient, administrative and financial duties for the research unit.

 

Assist the Research Coordinator to ensure smooth functioning of the research project: implements office systems to improve efficiency, helps to maintain patient files, triage incoming telephone calls and resolve billing issues.

 

Assist Principle Investigators, Clinicians and Study Coordinators with patient visits: reminder calls, patient schedules in EIPIC and Outlook calendars, registration, consent forms, medication list, room set-up and any other related tasks that may be needed during the patient’s visit.

 

Assist unit in all study related tasks.

 

Desired skills include:

Excellent secretarial/administrative skills; organize and detail-oriented.

Demonstrates ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Desire to work in a research environment and work with research patients.

 

Required skills include:

- Bachelor’s Degree required

- strong computer skills- especially with Microsoft office suite

- ability to work independently and still be a team member

- enthusiasm and willingness to learn
