The Positive Intervention Prevention Specialist conducts outreach, recruitment, and engagement of persons living with HIV disease for the Healthy Relationships (HR) evidence-based intervention. The Program Specialist assists with design, planning, promotion, implementation, and co-facilitation of the Healthy Relationships curriculum with priority populations. The Positive Intervention Prevention Specialist also assists in the planning, design, promotion, and implementation of the Women Rising Project’s HIV disease management education presentations, and psychosocial support activities for women living with HIV disease.  The Program Specialist conducts outreach, recruitment, engagement, and retention activities for the Women Rising Project.

A successful Positive Intervention Prevention Specialist must be able and willing to:

  • Assist with design, implementation, and facilitation of the Healthy Relationships curriculum for people living with HIV from various backgrounds in designated priority populations. .
  • Conduct promotion, outreach, and recruitment using innovative approaches such as motivational strategies in various community settings to engage and retain participants from the priority populations in the Healthy Relationships and Women Rising Project programs. .
  • Conduct preparation, planning, and group facilitation to support program activities.
  • Utilize communication skills to maintain appropriate contact with clients to promote high retention in services.
  • Collaborate with Health Promotion staff, agency case managers, and community organizations to conduct outreach activities, promote client retention, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Assist with the planning, design, and implementation of HIV health education and psychosocial support programming for women living with HIV.
  • Provide programmatic and quality assurance support for Positive Interventions programs including program planning, recruitment, delivery, documentation, and attending training and programmatic meetings.
  • Conduct data collection, documentation, reporting, and program evaluation activities via designated reporting tools as required by program policies, procedures, and funder requirements.
