Position Summary:

The Infectious Disease Program Manager will be responsible for management of non-clinical aspects of Unity Health Care’s (Unity) Infectious Disease Program, such as programmatic development. The program manager will be instrumental to the operations of the Infectious Disease Department including preparation and dissemination of regular programmatic communications, writing proposals and reports, contract management and data monitoring. The Program Manager will interact both with internal team members and external partners and stakeholders, including sub-recipients, community-based partners, government representatives, and the general community.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Oversight and management of non-clinical aspects of Unity’s Infectious Disease Program.
  • Collaborates with Chief of Infectious Disease to formulate, organize, and monitor our client-centered HIV program.
  • Monitor compliance for all federal, state, local requirements related to Unity’s Infectious Disease program including but not limited to Ryan White Funding.

 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with the Chief of Infectious Disease to determine an effective strategy for the implementation of annual goals and monitoring of department work plan.
  • Seeks, applies for, and manages funding for Infectious Disease and related health services.
  • Develops and monitors Infectious Disease budgets, ensures appropriate expenditure allocation.
  • Analyzes data trends; performance evaluation, and prompting team discussion for quality improvement.
  • Develops a structure for HIV support groups and Consumer Advisory Board in collaboration with HIV nurse coordinator, and provides ongoing support for its successful implementation.
  • Serves as primary contact for HHS/HRSA and DOH/HAHSTA and external partners.
  • Represents Unity’s Infectious Disease Team at local, regional, and national events, as appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with local and national partners/stakeholders.

 

Education and Experience

Minimum Experience: 2+ years of professional program management experience in a community based health program, experience with grant writing and program evaluation a plus.

Minimum Education:  Master’s Degree (Public Health or Health Care Administration, preferred) from an accredited college or university in a related field of study.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals or groups.
  • Ability to analyze and systematically compile technical and statistical information and to prepare reports and correspondence; comprehend and make inferences from written material; interpret federal, state, and local government laws and regulations.
