Mission: LGBT Life Center is a trusted leader that empowers the LGBTQ communities and all people affected by HIV through improving health and wellness, strengthening families, and communities, and providing transformative education and advocacy.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordination and tracking of annual open enrollment events. Ongoing assessment of consumer needs when accessing mainstream resources.
  • Daily operation of Ryan White transportation program to include review of referrals and eligibility. Coordination of scheduling referrals using agency vehicles, Lyft Medical, and/or local taxi services. 
  • Ongoing communication with operation staff to manage leasing, vehicle maintenance, insurance, registration, and inspections.
  • Operation of pantry services and coordination of food access at all LGBT Life Center locations.
  • Ensure ongoing open access to staff/individuals experiencing food insecurities.
  • Coordinate schedules of food pick-up and deliveries. Ensure food is appropriately stocked using first in/first out methodology. Inclusive of holiday food programs and donations.
  • Support growth of pantry program by finding and implementing new and existing resources, funding opportunities, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by CEO, immediate supervisor, or their designee.

Responsibilities – Program Implementation and Oversight:

  • Supervision of staff and volunteers identified as part of the resource team.
  • Training and onboarding of all new staff members of the resource team.
  • Routine data entry required to meet program/grant requirements and guidelines.
  • Work with Community Engagement staff to support pantry program with volunteers.
  • Maintain scheduled inventory, ordering, and reporting of pantry program.
  • Establish ongoing relationship with local churches who contribute to our pantry programming.
  • Contribution to grant reports and Foodbank/USDA reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain referral and tracking system to manage reporting for pantry program.
  • Manage leased vehicle(s) to ensure contractual obligations are met and not exceeded (mileage, maintenance, etc.).
  • Implement quality assurance activities across responsible programs to ensure consistency. Inclusive of client and staff surveys.
  • Active participation on the Leadership Team (monthly meetings, support, and implementation of agency goals).
  • Active participation and support with agency events to contribute to the agency mission.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field, and at least 2 years of experience in HIV/LGBTQ Communities, Human Services, supervision, service delivery, etc.

 

Job Knowledge and Skills: This position requires knowledge of and sensitivity to target populations (HIV and LGBTQ+ communities, homeless populations, persons experiencing mental illness, persons experiencing substance abuse, and other vulnerable populations) along with the ability to work in both clinical and community environments. Ability to work with multicultural and diverse populations required. Effective oral and written communication skills required.  Excellent organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and time-management skills are required to handle multiple activities related to program implementation. Computer knowledge should include Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).

Physical Requirements:

Must have reliable transportation and acceptable driving record is required.  Transporting of participants is required.

 

This work requires the following physical activities: walking, sitting, hearing/seeing, talking in person or on the phone. Occasional walking, bending, standing, and driving are needed. Work is performed in an office setting, and in home environments. Work is also performed in social and community settings as necessary. Minimal to moderate lifting is required at times. Extended work schedule may apply to accommodate client’s needs.

Salary: Exempt, full-time position with pay range of $47K to $50K based on experience, PTO, comprehensive benefit package including 403B, medical and dental coverage. 

 

Preferred location:  There is opportunity for some remote/virtual work, however applicants must live within 40 miles of LGBT Life Center offices in the Eastern Virginia Zone.
