ICF is seeking a Senior Health Communications Manager to lead federal public health contracts related to HIV/AIDS and sexual health. Preferably, this position will be located at either ICF’s Rockville, MD or Atlanta, GA offices, but candidates in other locations may be considered. This position will report to a senior leader in the health communications line of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, counsel, and project management support in a range of areas, including strategic communications planning, program development, digital communications, materials development, media relations, campaign evaluation, and stakeholder outreach.
  • Lead contract team in the development and implementation of communication plans, messages, materials, and program strategies to reach diverse audiences.
  • Serve as an advisor to the client, including supporting strategic discussions and problem solving, most particularly related to communications planning, the integration and implementation of media and digital strategies to increase awareness and utilization of the client resources and materials.
  • Attend internal client meetings and support the day-to-day implementation of communications needs for the client.
  • Develop case studies, best practices, assist with clearance of media products.
  • Develop content for health communications campaigns targeting consumers and healthcare professionals and other audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health communication, social sciences, or equivalent required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience managing Federal health contracts.
  • Experience with HIV/AIDS communications campaigns, including an in-depth and nuanced understanding of the current medical, policy, and advocacy aspects of HIV prevention, treatment and care.
  • Experience in developing health communication programs for audiences particularly hard hit by HIV/AIDS, including LGBTQ persons, African-Americans, and Hispanics/Latinos.
  • Experience in strategic communications and leading national health communication campaigns on public health programs and issues.
  • Experience working with diverse teams, including researchers, analysts, writers, and creative staff.
  • Proposal writing and management and business development skills.
