CAP is excited to announce that we are currently hiring an experienced SW Washington Rent Assistance Specialist. This is a 1.0 FTE position, which reports to the Manager of SW Washington Housing Services.


Responsibilities include: completing emergency rental assistance applications, mediation and direct communication with landlords and property managers, working with clients to develop goal plans, collecting supportive documentation including, but not limited to leases/rental agreements and income verification, coordination of medical and transitional housing motel vouchers, completing check requests for housing payment to be submitted for management approval, offering case consultation to referring case managers, documenting short term rent assistance spending, completing forms, and entering data into agency databases in a timely and accurate manner. The Rent Assistance Specialist works collaboratively across departments and communicates effectively with clients, volunteers, CAP staff, and community partners. Other duties as assigned.


The person in this position is stationed primarily in CAP’s Vancouver office but will travel occasionally throughout the Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Clark, Skamania, and Multnomah County service area for trainings, meetings, and check delivery. Occasional evening and weekend work, a state-issued driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are required*. This is a non-management, union-represented position.
