Position Summary: Navos is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to work with youth who are residents in our Children’s Long-Term Inpatient Program (CLIP). The Youth Peer Support Specialist will:

*Support youth through the treatment process

*Provide coaching and individual support to youth

*Assist youth in understanding how they can have a voice in their treatment

*Assist youth in focusing on their treatment

*Skill building with youth

*Model peer support in the community

*Help youth create a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Possess the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing. Demonstrate patience, self-sufficiency, reliability and consistency. Effectively work in a fast paced environment, multitask, have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Have appropriate boundaries, knowledge of HIPAA, and ethics. Work in community and home based settings and have the ability to meet families where they are at in their recovery journey.

Education, Experience, and Certification: This is a part-time position. Must be a Certified Peer Specialist in Washington State. Must have an Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration issued by Washington State Department of Health (or obtain upon hire). Lived experience in mental health system. Lived experience being involved with the Children’s Long-Term Inpatient Program (CLIP) is strongly preferred.

 

Physical Abilities:  The position involves lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength.   Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required without assistance.

Compensation:  DOE
