Alabama’s HIV re-entry program for prisoners has been so successful at helping positive people plan for life on the outside that the state’s Department of Corrections (ADOC) will use it as a model for a broader program involving the entire prison population. Through the Alabama Prison Initiative, most HIV positive inmates go through three months of preparation prior to release.
