I was diagnosed in 1991 shortly after I graduated from high school. I contracted HIV from my first boyfriend. I felt that the lack of adequate sex education put me at risk and I called the local school board (Jacksonville,FL). They refused. The only schools that ever let me speak were private, religious schools. (And they PAID me speaker fees). Well off policy makers wanted their children warned but denied this information to public school kids. Hypocrisy and genocide!
