I was diagnosed at 50, I know who passed it on to me and was upset at first. My doctor is the most amazing woman and set my mind at ease and my life back in order. The stigma of being poz is hard sometimes but I figure it's their loss for not knowing me. I am alive, healthy and happy and have a wonderful supportive group of friends and family.

I sure can relate to this, as I was 47 and in a long-term relationship when I received the poz diagnosis. We had negative tests so we stopped using condoms after a year. I didn't know he was unfaithful until I had an HIV test as part of a routine physical. After that he refused to get tested again--because it would confirm his infidelity. Instead he blamed me of cheating, which did not happen. It was a tough time in my life, but thankfully I'm healthy emotionally and physically on meds.
