N.J. Police Captain Accused of HIV Nondisclosure in Canada
Ottawa police have accused a 65-year-old retired New Jersey police captain with not disclosing his HIV-positive status to a woman before having sex with her, CBC News reports. Charles Martina has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault from alleged incidents between July and September 2006. The complainant came forward in May 2012, which launched an investigation. A warrant for his arrest has been issued, but police believe he will never return to Canada. Martina also allegedly didn’t disclose his status to two women in New Jersey in 2011.
