Dan Tietz to Lead NYC HIV/AIDS Services and Other Programs
Dan Tietz, the executive director of the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA) since 2006, was appointed to manage several local government programs that assist some of the most vulnerable residents, according to a statement by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA).
As Chief Special Services Officer, Tietz will oversee HRA programs such as Adult Protective Services (APS), the Office of Domestic Violence (ODV), Customized Assistance Services (CAS), Disaster Assistance and the HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA). HRA created this new role to streamline its operations.
A registered nurse and lawyer, Tietz previously was deputy executive director for operations at the Coalition for the Homeless, the deputy executive director for Day Treatment and Residential Services at Housing Works, and the director of Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) at the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health.
