Lawsuit Claims Delta Flight Attendant Fired for HIV
A former Delta Airlines employee has filed a lawsuit against the company claiming he was fired because he was HIV positive, had a sleep disorder and was in recovery from drug addiction, Sun-Times Media Wire (STMW) reports. The suit claims that “John Doe” was fired for a “policy violation” about a month after Doe told Delta his HIV status. According to STMW, the company employed Doe for 23 years, mostly as a flight attendant. The suit claims Doe was discriminated against under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
