Condom Info

It's awesome your willing to help your friends out with their embarrassing matters. Next time they can try an online store like http://mailboxcondoms.com and avoid the embarrassment by shopping in privacy. On another note I find it terrifying that people risk their lives to avoid some discomfort at the register.

I couldn't help but kind of giggle at your blog, thinking...."been there, done that". Difference is, that I'm a guy. Never really having had sex with condoms until I was diagnosed HIV+, I have come to learn to love them. I have tried as many brands as I can, and give them to friends when I find one I like. I still feel a little awkwards, sometimes, when the cashier I am buying them from is some teenaged girl, or some elderly woman, or I have a woman behind me with three kids (she may need them too!!), but I try to push that little voice inside my head away, you know, the one that's saying "please hurry", and as the teenage cashier girl rings up the condoms and picks up the big yellow box of Trojan Intense Ribbed, and asks "would you like a bag?", I say "yes please", and try to remember that although everyone around me knows I'm buying them to "get some", they don't know why. Yeah, I have come to feel badass when I buy my "Bareback", brand from contempo at my local adult bookstore, as the chick there knows what I'm doing, having seen me in there with different guys over time, but still....buying them in the drugstore, or grocery store does present a certain amount of anxiety, that perhaps it shouldn't. I have become the "king of condoms" amongst my female friends, trying to protect them, when I know all I can do is give them one, and hope they'll use it, and then when they end up pregnant, realize, that apprently either they didn't, or I didn't give them enough. Still.....I use them, and have come to love them.

I may guilty of ruthless flattery, but somehow I wouldn't describe you as "a middle aged blonde lady." Having said that, and with tongue carefully held in cheek, we are all looking forward to reading your first-hand review of the "his and her lube", and directions to the “O” train on those condom packages.

This is a wonderful, inspiring story. I'm passing on a link to it to my best friend. We're in our 20's and I'm about to have a sex talk with her because I do think prevention is important and knowledge is power, and that she should totally buy condoms because who knows if the guy will, right? Thanks for this.
