All of my medicines besides ARV are on a waitlist. It's a month to month guess if I will have medicine to treat PN among other things. This sounds like it won't address the poorly funded ADAP. Maybe in 2014 I won't have to worry every month about my meds?
I never thought I would see a conservative poz person but I guess even in this community you can't escape ignorance and selfishness.
Joko, there are millions of undocumented workers in this country who are currently receiving health care benefits that are paid for by U.S. taxpayers. Check out any emergency room in California. By law, all hospitals must treat patients regardless of their documentation status or ability to pay. Do you seriously think this will end with the new healthcare legislation? Many of us fear that the quality of health care will decline with so many more millions accessing the current health care system.
T.J Millions of undocomented people in this country paid tax every single day BTW they dont get the same taxes back every year as you and I do. so please read more and get educated.
It amazes me how something that will INCREASE costs to those HIV+ people currently with insurance can be lauded as "a good thing." I for one am HIV+ and am FIRMLY AGAINST this so called reform--which is, in fact merely a disguise for the socialization of America. Look at countries like the UK and Canada; ask their HIV+ citizens if they like the level of healthcare they receive. Their answer will be NO. Our worst charity system in the US provides a higher level of service than any NHS clinic.
TJ, Please show us where the recently passed healthcare legislation extends health care benefits to "millions of undocumented workers". Are you Sarah Palin in disguise?
How will the United States afford to extend health care benefits to 32 million uninsured Americans (and millions of undocumented workers) when this country already has huge trillion dollar budget deficits and an economy that is in serious decline? Many of us fear that the quality of health care will decline with so many more millions accessing the current health care system. Will those of us living with HIV/AIDS become too expensive to treat and eventually become expendable?

Julio, there are millions of undocumented people in this country who get paid under the table and pay NO taxes yet they all still receive educational and health benefits paid for by U.S. taxpayers. If you haven't watched the news lately, the United States is in debt trillions of dollars and the U.S. continues to lose jobs to other countries. Where is the money going to come from to pay for this new health care reform that will cover all U.S. citizens and undocumented workers too?
