A coalition of AIDS groups has designated July 2012 as National HIV Awareness Month (NHAM) to coincide with the XIX International AIDS Conference to be held in Washington, DC, July 21 to 25, according to an NHAM statement. The goals of the awareness month are to spur conversation about HIV/AIDS in the United States, work toward an end to HIV stigma and discrimination, and find an end to the epidemic.
