Walking up 4th ave I saw a banner on a light post w/a pic of a handsome white guy, early 20's, worked out. At the top of the banner it said "PRIDE NYC". At the bottom of the banner was the name of the HIV med that sponsored the ad. I thought of all the people excluded from the ad, Gay Pride as a market niche for drug company profits, dead friends, the surge in infections and the people being infected, and finally the magic pill the banner promised to poz people. Bummer.
I couldn't agree more with this article/action. The only concern I have, which to many sound prudish, is using Fucking instead of sexual intercourse, intercourse, etc... We need everyone to get on board with sexual education. Unfortunately, that includes many people of the "religious" community. I know we have to do everything possible bring the rate if infection down. To use Fucking, in my opinion will only close doors instead if opening them.
Count me in! Long Island ACT UP stands in solidarity with ACT UP NY. I agree with the statement above in full support of our mutual goals of ending the AIDS crisis. Silence equals death - our motto from 1989 remains true today in 2013.

This is very alighting to a truth of HIV dieses, for most of my information in press and internet is about more money for AIDS Inc in their survival to have a pay check. I for one as an HIV positive person am working in my faith each day to stay off disability and without AIDS sickness. Thank God. It seem to me that the Gay,Black and Latin community are all in shame and heads in the sand with personal agendas for their people. Again few leaders and a of entitlement taker.such as,TAI,BAI,DAP
