It is an old story of community groups starting off with good works and then getting very big to become a cash machine and example is AARP once for seniors now owned by PhARMA or The Red Cross Blood Brokers, once pure to distrubute blood to save lifes and now a Big Cash Machine. I am personally disturbed to by some of the ASO or death camps that keep HIV people in the old thought of dependents on their thoughts of HOPE, which might go like this, "sorry no funding, but here is a bus token for u
In the past, in times of crisis, we see great things done by extraordinary visionary people. In Texas, faced with ADAP cuts, infected and affected came together as ACT Now! to lobby our State Dept of Health and Human Services. The idea of coming together for change was born from the trailblazing actions of ACT UP!
how can I get involved in helping ACT-UP?
Where can i make a donation to support Act-up and in its current campaign...
It's good to see that I'm not the only Poz guy who thought something is wrong with complacent ASO's that are not beholden to clients. Things have to change and I'm thrilled to see Poz Magazine covering real change.
Thanks Trent for drawing attention to the rebirth of ACT UP. We need more media to grasp why our activism efforts are so needed. We need to stop the complacency and continue the hard work that the beginning founders of ACT UP started so long ago. Thank you to everyone that supports our continued fight. I'm proud to be a part of this great movement.
Typical bunch of complainers. Why don't they put efforts into health care for all instead of complaining. It sounds and if a few people in this WI groups are just the typical media whores and like to be in the news. Get with it people this is about all of us not just you.

Although ACT UP's means for radical change is sometimes mistaken for hard, they are one of the founders in the fight against AIDS, utilizing the internet and marketing strategies for change while partnering with other groups will tighten the ropes.
